Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Rubber, Transportation Equipment and Textile sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 gained 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Yokohama Rubber Co Ltd (TYO:5101), which rose 10.20% or 226.00 points to trade at 2,441.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Citizen Holdings Co., Ltd. (TYO:7762) added 4.38% or 35.00 points to end at 835.00 and Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd. (TYO:3863) was up 4.35% or 42.00 points to 1,007.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (TYO:9107), which fell 2.55% or 85.00 points to trade at 3,250.00 at the close. Konami Corp. (TYO:9766) declined 2.19% or 140.00 points to end at 6,260.00 and Astellas Pharma Inc. (TYO:4503) was down 2.13% or 41.00 points to 1,886.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2522 to 1063 and 254 ended unchanged.

The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was up 4.69% to 15.40.
Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.74% or 0.57 to $77.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.81% or 0.67 to hit $83.67 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.20% or 3.65 to trade at $1,853.85 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was down 0.06% to 134.07, while EUR/JPY fell 0.02% to 143.43.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 103.75.
