Investing.com – Israel stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Biomed, Insurance and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 fell 0.71%.
The best performers of the session on the TA 35 were Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Corp Ltd (TASE:BEZQ), which rose 4.06% or 10.1 points to trade at 259.0 at the close. Meanwhile, Delek Drilling LP (TASE:DEDRp) added 2.18% or 23 points to end at 1079 and Delek Group (TASE:DLEKG) was up 1.47% or 930 points to 64000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (TASE:TEVA), which fell 8.24% or 272 points to trade at 3029 at the close. OPKO Health Inc (TASE:OPK) declined 3.81% or 26 points to end at 658 and Tower Semiconductor Ltd (TASE:TSEM) was down 3.74% or 212 points to 5460.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange by 247 to 140 and 32 ended unchanged.
Shares in Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (TASE:TEVA) fell to 5-year lows; falling 8.24% or 272 to 3029.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 2.50% or 1.33 to $51.94 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.97% or 1.23 to hit $61.06 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.64% or 8.55 to trade at $1339.75 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was up 0.13% to 3.5830, while EUR/ILS fell 0.04% to 4.0525.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 96.812.
