Investing.com – Israel stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Communication, Banking and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 lost 0.69%.
The best performers of the session on the TA 35 were Maytronics (TASE:MTRN), which rose 2.32% or 111 points to trade at 4892 at the close. Meanwhile, Tower Semiconductor Ltd (TASE:TSEM) added 1.69% or 147 points to end at 8854 and Alony Hetz Properties and Investments Ltd (TASE:ALHE) was up 1.41% or 61 points to 4400 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Matrix (TASE:MTRX), which fell 2.81% or 211 points to trade at 7308 at the close. Sapiens International Corporation NV (TASE:SPNS) declined 2.67% or 248 points to end at 9031 and Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Corp Ltd (TASE:BEZQ) was down 2.64% or 9.8 points to 362.1.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange by 222 to 190 and 21 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tower Semiconductor Ltd (TASE:TSEM) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.69% or 147 to 8854.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.35% or 0.16 to $46.10 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.28% or 0.14 to hit $49.11 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 1.57% or 28.95 to trade at $1868.95 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was down 0.37% to 3.2550, while EUR/ILS fell 0.30% to 3.9501.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 90.745.
