Investing.com – Israel stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking, Financials and Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 rose 0.36%.
The best performers of the session on the TA 35 were Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (TASE:TEVA), which rose 5.33% or 176.00 points to trade at 3,477.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Leumi (TASE:LUMI) added 2.47% or 72.00 points to end at 2,982.00 and Harel (TASE:HARL) was up 2.45% or 75.00 points to 3,135.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Energean Oil & Gas PLC (TASE:ENOG), which fell 4.06% or 226.00 points to trade at 5,347.00 at the close. Newmed Energy LP (TASE:NWMDp) declined 4.05% or 32.30 points to end at 765.00 and Delek Group (TASE:DLEKG) was down 3.66% or 1,500.00 points to 39,500.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange by 273 to 210 and 24 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for February delivery was down 4.07% or 3.13 to $73.80 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 4.03% or 3.31 to hit $78.79 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.87% or 16.15 to trade at $1,862.25 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was unchanged 0.04% to 3.52, while EUR/ILS rose 0.59% to 3.74.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 103.95.
