Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Consumer Services and Technology sectors led shares higher while losses in the Utilities, Healthcare and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.91%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.30%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW), which rose 3.28% or 2.12 points to trade at 66.68 at the close. Meanwhile, Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) added 2.44% or 3.65 points to end at 153.20 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was up 2.40% or 0.60 points to 25.43 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO), which fell 5.46% or 0.65 points to trade at 11.26 at the close. Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) declined 1.03% or 0.58 points to end at 55.96 and Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) was down 0.85% or 1.26 points to 146.74.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Imerys SA (EPA:IMTP) which rose 13.26% to 31.10, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was up 11.77% to settle at 4.06 and Fnac Darty SA (EPA:FNAC) which gained 4.45% to close at 24.42.
The worst performers were Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) which was down 5.46% to 11.26 in late trade, Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) which lost 2.48% to settle at 24.75 and Valneva (EPA:VLS) which was down 2.11% to 3.90 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 314 to 189 and 96 ended unchanged.
Shares in Valneva (EPA:VLS) fell to 3-years lows; falling 2.11% or 0.08 to 3.90.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.41% or 8.25 to $2,017.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.77% or 1.32 to hit $75.69 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.31% or 1.04 to trade at $80.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.44% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.09% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.50% at 102.88.
