Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare, Oil & Gas and Gas & Water sectors led shares higher while losses in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.89%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.93%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB), which rose 6.88% or 4.84 points to trade at 75.24 at the close. Meanwhile, Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) added 3.25% or 10.65 points to end at 337.95 and Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) was up 2.81% or 5.95 points to 217.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA), which fell 2.51% or 1.00 points to trade at 38.67 at the close. BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) declined 1.97% or 1.35 points to end at 67.01 and Danone SA (EPA:DANO) was down 1.69% or 1.00 points to 58.30.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which rose 18.69% to 1.88, Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which was up 11.29% to settle at 88.25 and Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which gained 7.29% to close at 12.80.
The worst performers were Alten SA (EPA:LTEN) which was down 11.40% to 114.20 in late trade, Vusiongroup SA (EPA:VU) which lost 5.24% to settle at 126.50 and Valeo SA (EPA:VLOF) which was down 3.24% to 11.51 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 309 to 197 and 98 ended unchanged.
Shares in Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB) rose to 5-year highs; up 6.88% or 4.84 to 75.24.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.24% or 5.60 to $2,348.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.61% or 0.51 to hit $84.08 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.66% or 0.59 to trade at $89.60 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.38% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.48% at 105.96.
