Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher while losses in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.24% to hit a new 1-month high, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.29%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which rose 1.78% or 0.92 points to trade at 52.70 at the close. Meanwhile, TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) added 1.55% or 0.96 points to end at 62.81 and Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) was up 1.55% or 1.32 points to 86.24 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which fell 1.07% or 1.40 points to trade at 130.05 at the close. Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) declined 1.00% or 0.13 points to end at 12.33 and Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) was down 0.91% or 0.13 points to 13.55.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Aperam SA (AS:APAM) which rose 2.48% to 29.31, Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which was up 2.01% to settle at 5.47 and Gaztransport et Technigaz SA (EPA:GTT) which gained 1.89% to close at 123.70.
The worst performers were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was down 9.47% to 0.30 in late trade, SES Imagotag (EPA:SESL) which lost 6.89% to settle at 100.00 and Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which was down 4.56% to 3.81 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 265 to 248 and 95 ended unchanged.
Shares in Gaztransport et Technigaz SA (EPA:GTT) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.89% or 2.30 to 123.70. Shares in Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) fell to all time lows; losing 4.56% or 0.18 to 3.81.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.04% or 0.75 to $1,992.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.10% or 0.85 to hit $76.25 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.84% or 0.69 to trade at $81.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.18% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 103.64.
