Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumer Services and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher while losses in the Healthcare, Industrials and Foods & Drugs sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.21%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.09%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which rose 3.03% or 3.15 points to trade at 107.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) added 2.98% or 2.90 points to end at 100.10 and Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) was up 1.83% or 0.34 points to 19.01 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN), which fell 3.12% or 7.10 points to trade at 220.80 at the close. Safran SA (EPA:SAF) declined 1.70% or 3.45 points to end at 199.15 and STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) was down 1.47% or 0.56 points to 37.90.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Derichebourg (EPA:DBG) which rose 7.19% to 4.89, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was up 5.43% to settle at 1.32 and Valeo SA (EPA:VLOF) which gained 4.59% to close at 10.14.
The worst performers were Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) which was down 3.12% to 220.80 in late trade, Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which lost 3.03% to settle at 97.75 and Mersen (EPA:CBLP) which was down 2.61% to 33.60 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 298 to 185 and 107 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.04% or 0.90 to $2,460.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.11% or 0.09 to hit $81.53 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.13% or 0.11 to trade at $85.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.23% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 103.74.
