Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Healthcare sectors led shares higher while losses in the Technology, Utilities and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.08%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.34%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which rose 3.53% or 4.40 points to trade at 129.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) added 2.66% or 1.52 points to end at 58.60 and Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) was up 1.91% or 0.31 points to 16.54 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Legrand SA (EPA:LEGD), which fell 1.75% or 1.68 points to trade at 94.50 at the close. Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) declined 1.00% or 0.22 points to end at 21.29 and Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) was down 0.93% or 0.23 points to 23.97.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Virbac SA (EPA:VIRB) which rose 12.01% to 340.50, Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) which was up 6.67% to settle at 16.47 and Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) which gained 4.13% to close at 27.21.

The worst performers were ID Logistics SAS (EPA:IDLA) which was down 1.95% to 301.50 in late trade, Legrand SA (EPA:LEGD) which lost 1.75% to settle at 94.50 and Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which was down 1.09% to 2.73 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 291 to 236 and 91 ended unchanged.

Shares in Virbac SA (EPA:VIRB) rose to 52-week highs; rising 12.01% or 36.50 to 340.50.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.89% or 18.25 to $2,058.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 2.03% or 1.48 to hit $74.30 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 2.03% or 1.58 to trade at $79.53 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.50% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.32% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.44% at 101.74.
