Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Oil & Gas and Utilities sectors led shares higher while losses in the Technology, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.07%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Orange SA (PA:ORAN), which rose 2.22% or 0.32 points to trade at 14.73 at the close. Meanwhile, Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) added 1.99% or 0.28 points to end at 14.10 and WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) was up 1.34% or 2.50 points to 188.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sodexo (PA:EXHO), which fell 3.13% or 2.68 points to trade at 82.88 at the close. STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) declined 2.80% or 0.530 points to end at 18.430 and Cap Gemini SA (PA:CAPP) was down 2.15% or 2.45 points to 111.65.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Casino Guichard (PA:CASP) which rose 5.83% to 35.21, DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which was up 4.20% to settle at 34.200 and Vicat (PA:VCTP) which gained 3.83% to close at 57.00.
The worst performers were Trigano (PA:TRIA) which was down 5.63% to 114.00 in late trade, Alten (PA:LTEN) which lost 5.31% to settle at 83.00 and Tarkett (PA:TKTT) which was down 4.50% to 22.94 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 347 to 246 and 75 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tarkett (PA:TKTT) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.50% or 1.08 to 22.94.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 1.96% to 14.74.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.44% or 5.50 to $1259.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.11% or 0.08 to hit $74.22 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.35% or 0.27 to trade at $78.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.02% to 1.1660, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.8817.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 94.25.
