Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher while losses in the Technology, Foods & Drugs and Construction & Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.50%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 1.18%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which rose 3.95% or 3.80 points to trade at 100.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) added 2.24% or 0.75 points to end at 34.29 and Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) was up 1.66% or 1.64 points to 100.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF), which fell 1.94% or 1.20 points to trade at 60.71 at the close. AXA SA (EPA:AXAF) declined 1.83% or 0.66 points to end at 35.50 and Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) was down 1.61% or 0.23 points to 13.78.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Air France KLM SA (EPA:AIRF) which rose 6.04% to 8.92, Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) which was up 3.95% to settle at 100.00 and Vusiongroup SA (EPA:VU) which gained 2.71% to close at 151.60.
The worst performers were Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which was down 6.66% to 6.22 in late trade, Viridien SA (EPA:VIRI) which lost 4.68% to settle at 34.11 and Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which was down 4.52% to 11.42 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 271 to 226 and 93 ended unchanged.
Shares in Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) fell to all time lows; losing 6.66% or 0.44 to 6.22. Shares in Viridien SA (EPA:VIRI) fell to all time lows; losing 4.68% or 1.67 to 34.11.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.17% or 4.60 to $2,681.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.10% or 1.50 to hit $70.06 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.61% or 1.20 to trade at $73.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.32% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.25% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 100.51.
