Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Oil & Gas and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher while losses in the Technology, Utilities and Construction & Materials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.16%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.09%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN), which rose 2.46% or 0.59 points to trade at 24.62 at the close. Meanwhile, TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) added 1.86% or 1.13 points to end at 61.99 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) was up 1.82% or 0.19 points to 10.49 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP), which fell 2.63% or 4.20 points to trade at 155.55 at the close. Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) declined 2.35% or 1.04 points to end at 43.20 and Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) was down 1.60% or 2.90 points to 178.88.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which rose 9.23% to 2.63, Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (EPA:STDM) which was up 3.97% to settle at 249.00 and Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which gained 3.34% to close at 4.39.

The worst performers were Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which was down 5.09% to 9.89 in late trade, Vusiongroup SA (EPA:SESL) which lost 3.98% to settle at 130.40 and Neoen SA (EPA:NEOEN) which was down 3.70% to 29.16 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 297 to 243 and 82 ended unchanged.

Shares in Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.63% or 4.20 to 155.55.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.16% or 3.35 to $2,075.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.12% or 0.80 to hit $70.85 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.90% or 0.69 to trade at $76.35 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.81% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.78% at 101.82.
