Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 2.69% to hit a new 3-months low, while the SBF 120 index lost 2.66%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA), which rose 1.03% or 0.26 points to trade at 25.53 at the close. Meanwhile, Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) fell 0.12% or 0.20 points to end at 164.35 and Renault SA (EPA:RENA) was down 0.15% or 0.06 points to 40.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kering SA (EPA:PRTP), which fell 5.76% or 12.90 points to trade at 211.00 at the close. Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) declined 4.79% or 4.56 points to end at 90.64 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was down 4.63% or 1.10 points to 22.66.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which rose 8,526.91% to 0.42, Coface (EPA:COFA) which was up 2.96% to settle at 14.59 and Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (EPA:STDM) which gained 1.25% to close at 185.60.
The worst performers were Ayvens SA (EPA:AYV) which was down 10.87% to 6.52 in late trade, Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which lost 8.35% to settle at 3.56 and Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which was down 8.26% to 0.99 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 379 to 119 and 90 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) fell to 5-year lows; losing 5.76% or 12.90 to 211.00. Shares in Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) rose to all time lows; gaining 8,526.91% or 0.41 to 0.42. Shares in Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) fell to 5-year lows; losing 8.26% or 0.09 to 0.99.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.56% or 14.70 to $2,603.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.41% or 0.28 to hit $68.32 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.39% or 0.28 to trade at $72.11 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.51% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.58% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.55% at 106.04.
