Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 2.28% to hit a new 52-week low, while the SBF 120 index declined 2.31%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST), which rose 0.43% or 0.15 points to trade at 35.01 at the close. Meanwhile, Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) fell 0.05% or 0.04 points to end at 78.81 and EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) was down 0.11% or 0.15 points to 138.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which fell 7.05% or 2.11 points to trade at 27.73 at the close. Thales (EPA:TCFP) declined 5.47% or 6.35 points to end at 109.65 and Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) was down 4.94% or 0.77 points to 14.81.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Metropole Television SA (EPA:MMTP) which rose 8.09% to 14.43, BIC (EPA:BICP) which was up 2.67% to settle at 59.50 and Ovh Groupe SAS (EPA:OVH) which gained 1.95% to close at 11.21.
The worst performers were Faurecia (EPA:EPED) which was down 11.50% to 12.16 in late trade, Valeo SA (EPA:VLOF) which lost 10.25% to settle at 16.07 and Neoen SA (EPA:NEOEN) which was down 8.20% to 35.47 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 456 to 116 and 61 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) fell to 52-week lows; falling 0.05% or 0.04 to 78.81. Shares in Faurecia (EPA:EPED) fell to 5-year lows; losing 11.50% or 1.58 to 12.16.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.62% or 27.15 to $1,653.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 5.49% or 4.58 to hit $78.91 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 4.71% or 4.26 to trade at $86.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 1.30% to 0.97, while EUR/GBP rose 2.00% to 0.89.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.31% at 112.56.
