Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Healthcare and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 1.52%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.88%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which rose 3.21% or 1.66 points to trade at 53.36 at the close. Meanwhile, Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:MICP) added 0.33% or 0.12 points to end at 36.84 and Thales (EPA:TCFP) was up 0.03% or 0.05 points to 164.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN), which fell 4.31% or 1.95 points to trade at 43.25 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 3.17% or 0.76 points to end at 23.18 and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) was down 2.84% or 21.20 points to 724.20.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Renault SA (EPA:RENA) which rose 3.21% to 53.36, Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which was up 1.16% to settle at 4.52 and SES (EPA:SESFd) which gained 0.86% to close at 5.27.
The worst performers were Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which was down 4.36% to 3.55 in late trade, Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) which lost 4.31% to settle at 43.25 and Neoen SA (EPA:NEOEN) which was down 4.09% to 31.40 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 342 to 166 and 97 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.74% or 17.40 to $2,339.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.66% or 0.53 to hit $79.30 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.63% or 0.53 to trade at $83.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.42% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.45% at 105.00.
