Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 1.44%, while the SBF 120 index lost 1.36%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Orange SA (PA:ORAN), which rose 2.12% or 0.20 points to trade at 9.63 at the close. Meanwhile, Alstom SA (PA:ALSO) added 1.82% or 0.59 points to end at 33.07 and Thales (PA:TCFP) was up 1.63% or 1.26 points to 78.78 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Worldline SA (PA:WLN), which fell 5.36% or 2.76 points to trade at 48.71 at the close. Schneider Electric SE (PA:SCHN) declined 5.14% or 8.70 points to end at 160.70 and Hermes International SCA (PA:HRMS) was down 5.04% or 73.00 points to 1374.00.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) which rose 4.45% to 42.76, Ovh Groupe SAS (PA:OVH) which was up 3.46% to settle at 24.79 and Mercialys SA (PA:MERY) which gained 3.46% to close at 9.41.
The worst performers were Atos SE (PA:ATOS) which was down 16.82% to 32.10 in late trade, Valneva (PA:VLS) which lost 7.23% to settle at 16.290 and Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (PA:STDM) which was down 6.61% to 394.40 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 364 to 213 and 79 ended unchanged.
Shares in Atos SE (PA:ATOS) fell to 5-year lows; losing 16.82% or 6.49 to 32.10.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 52-week low.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.10% or 1.75 to $1799.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.76% or 0.60 to hit $78.30 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.98% or 0.80 to trade at $80.95 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.26% to 1.1329, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.8353.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 95.955.
