Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Technology and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 1.20%, while the SBF 120 index declined 1.12%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI), which rose 3.29% or 0.43 points to trade at 13.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) added 2.05% or 0.48 points to end at 23.93 and WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) was up 1.60% or 1.14 points to 72.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR), which fell 4.42% or 0.93 points to trade at 20.10 at the close. L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) declined 3.73% or 12.25 points to end at 316.00 and Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) was down 3.41% or 1.27 points to 35.93.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Aeroports de Paris SA (EPA:ADP) which rose 6.17% to 141.95, Air France KLM SA (EPA:AIRF) which was up 4.87% to settle at 4.16 and Euronext (EPA:ENX) which gained 3.85% to close at 76.60.
The worst performers were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was down 19.17% to 27.19 in late trade, Inter Parfums Inc. (EPA:IPAR) which lost 4.67% to settle at 45.95 and Korian Medica SA (EPA:KORI) which was down 4.45% to 19.76 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 304 to 228 and 90 ended unchanged.
Shares in Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) fell to 5-year lows; down 19.17% or 6.45 to 27.19. Shares in Inter Parfums Inc. (EPA:IPAR) fell to 52-week lows; falling 4.67% or 2.25 to 45.95.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.00% or 0.05 to $1,818.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 2.03% or 2.23 to hit $107.40 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 2.25% or 2.52 to trade at $109.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.57% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.32% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 103.71.
