Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Oil & Gas and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 1.14%, while the SBF 120 index fell 1.01%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM), which rose 0.99% or 0.13 points to trade at 13.27 at the close. Meanwhile, Renault SA (EPA:RENA) added 0.78% or 0.34 points to end at 44.10 and Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) was up 0.49% or 0.55 points to 112.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW), which fell 3.05% or 2.34 points to trade at 74.26 at the close. LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) declined 2.54% or 16.60 points to end at 636.00 and Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) was down 2.24% or 5.55 points to 242.75.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) which rose 4.98% to 8.09, Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (EPA:STDM) which was up 4.07% to settle at 191.85 and Gaztransport et Technigaz SA (EPA:GTT) which gained 2.93% to close at 133.50.
The worst performers were Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which was down 26.74% to 3.25 in late trade, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which unchanged 18.52% to settle at 0.00 and Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which was down 5.34% to 1.83 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 279 to 223 and 81 ended unchanged.
Shares in Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) unchanged to all time lows; unchanged 18.52% or 0.00 to 0.00.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.17% or 31.45 to $2,717.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.82% or 0.56 to hit $68.93 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.62% or 0.45 to trade at $72.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.40% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.42% to 0.82.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 106.21.
