Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 1.10% to hit a new 1-month low, while the SBF 120 index declined 1.11%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB), which rose 1.29% or 1.06 points to trade at 83.48 at the close. Meanwhile, Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) added 0.60% or 1.45 points to end at 242.30 and Accor SA (EPA:ACCP) was up 0.38% or 0.16 points to 42.02 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP), which fell 6.39% or 11.25 points to trade at 164.80 at the close. Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) declined 4.35% or 5.35 points to end at 117.65 and Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) was down 3.80% or 0.39 points to 9.97.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which rose 4.02% to 6.26, Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which was up 1.45% to settle at 3.78 and Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB) which gained 1.29% to close at 83.48.
The worst performers were Nexans SA (EPA:NEXS) which was down 7.36% to 128.40 in late trade, Soitec SA (EPA:SOIT) which lost 6.70% to settle at 71.70 and Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) which was down 6.39% to 164.80 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 336 to 157 and 90 ended unchanged.

Shares in Soitec SA (EPA:SOIT) fell to 3-years lows; falling 6.70% or 5.15 to 71.70. Shares in Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) fell to 52-week lows; losing 6.39% or 11.25 to 164.80.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.56% or 15.55 to $2,796.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.10% or 1.41 to hit $68.62 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 2.01% or 1.42 to trade at $72.15 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.35% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.53% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 103.94.
