Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Technology, Basic Materials and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.95%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.93%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP), which rose 1.18% or 0.62 points to trade at 53.14 at the close. Meanwhile, Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (PA:MICP) added 1.17% or 1.20 points to end at 103.80 and L’Oreal SA (PA:OREP) was up 0.40% or 0.80 points to 201.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM), which fell 4.91% or 0.785 points to trade at 15.195 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 3.85% or 1.035 points to end at 25.815 and Dassault Systemes (PA:DAST) was down 3.64% or 4.65 points to 123.00.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eutelsat Communications SA (PA:ETL) which rose 6.93% to 22.83, Neopost (PA:NPOS) which was up 2.88% to settle at 26.42 and Television Francaise 1 SA (PA:TFFP) which gained 2.51% to close at 9.200.
The worst performers were Trigano (PA:TRIA) which was down 6.59% to 86.50 in late trade, STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) which lost 4.91% to settle at 15.195 and Eurofins Scientific (PA:EUFI) which was down 4.68% to 443.80 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 404 to 176 and 84 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 6.37% to 15.62.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.27% or 3.30 to $1204.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.44% or 0.33 to hit $74.66 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.14% or 0.12 to trade at $84.70 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1510, while EUR/GBP fell 0.59% to 0.8790.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 95.39.
