Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.79%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.75%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO), which rose 1.44% or 0.38 points to trade at 26.68 at the close. Meanwhile, EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) added 0.43% or 0.72 points to end at 168.62 and STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) was up 0.38% or 0.17 points to 43.71 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF), which fell 2.49% or 1.34 points to trade at 52.51 at the close. Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) declined 2.38% or 0.79 points to end at 32.36 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) was down 2.35% or 3.65 points to 151.80.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were SES (EPA:SESFd) which rose 7.80% to 5.24, Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (EPA:STDM) which was up 3.47% to settle at 241.20 and Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which gained 2.75% to close at 26.13.
The worst performers were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was down 4.01% to 2.09 in late trade, Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which lost 3.78% to settle at 8.01 and Gaztransport et Technigaz SA (EPA:GTT) which was down 3.69% to 89.95 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 348 to 173 and 98 ended unchanged.
Shares in Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) fell to 5-year lows; down 2.38% or 0.79 to 32.36.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.00% or 19.45 to $1,925.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 4.63% or 3.36 to hit $69.17 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 4.29% or 3.31 to trade at $73.81 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.31% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 102.03.
