Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.63%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.56%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Technip (PA:TECF), which rose 1.91% or 0.96 points to trade at 51.13 at the close. Meanwhile, Klepierre (PA:LOIM) added 0.94% or 0.36 points to end at 39.36 and Legrand SA (PA:LEGD) was up 0.58% or 0.28 points to 48.48 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which fell 3.79% or 0.198 points to trade at 5.022 at the close. Lafargeholcim Ltd (PA:LHN) declined 2.10% or 0.85 points to end at 39.88 and Vivendi SA (PA:VIV) was down 1.94% or 0.34 points to 16.96.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) which rose 4.53% to 35.540, Technip (PA:TECF) which was up 1.91% to settle at 51.13 and DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which gained 1.79% to close at 61.900.
The worst performers were Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which was down 5.07% to 3.390 in late trade, Air France KLM SA (PA:AIRF) which lost 4.13% to settle at 5.645 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) which was down 3.79% to 5.022 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 374 to 272 and 107 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) rose to all time highs; gaining 4.53% or 1.540 to 35.540.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 0.58% to 19.70.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.33% or 4.35 to $1333.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.76% or 0.35 to hit $45.59 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.40% or 0.19 to trade at $46.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.54% to 1.1016, while EUR/GBP rose 0.59% to 0.8403.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.56% at 97.10.
