Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Oil & Gas and Foods & Drugs sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.61%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.69%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP), which rose 3.02% or 1.28 points to trade at 43.56 at the close. Meanwhile, EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) added 1.36% or 1.95 points to end at 145.60 and Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) was up 0.82% or 0.81 points to 100.14 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which fell 5.12% or 1.26 points to trade at 23.36 at the close. Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB) declined 3.38% or 1.46 points to end at 41.53 and Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) was down 3.35% or 0.33 points to 9.39.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) which rose 3.02% to 43.56, Neoen SA (EPA:NEOEN) which was up 2.81% to settle at 41.38 and Ipsen SA (EPA:IPN) which gained 2.42% to close at 95.40.
The worst performers were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was down 9.83% to 22.38 in late trade, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which lost 8.73% to settle at 11.19 and Faurecia (EPA:EPED) which was down 6.53% to 16.40 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 329 to 218 and 93 ended unchanged.
Shares in Neoen SA (EPA:NEOEN) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.81% or 1.13 to 41.38.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.50% or 8.70 to $1,733.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.91% or 0.95 to hit $103.84 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.40% or 0.43 to trade at $106.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 1.17% to 1.01, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.96% at 107.85.
