Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrials, Oil & Gas and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.57%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.56%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SA (PA:LVMH), which rose 4.49% or 7.05 points to trade at 164.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Kering SA (PA:PRTP) added 1.54% or 2.90 points to end at 190.95 and Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) was up 0.72% or 0.066 points to 9.255 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP), which fell 3.78% or 0.52 points to trade at 13.10 at the close. Safran SA (PA:SAF) declined 2.83% or 1.86 points to end at 63.83 and Airbus Group (PA:AIR) was down 2.39% or 1.30 points to 53.03.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SA (PA:LVMH) which rose 4.49% to 164.10, GTT (PA:GTT) which was up 3.73% to settle at 27.98 and Air France KLM SA (PA:AIRF) which gained 2.44% to close at 4.904.
The worst performers were Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP) which was down 3.78% to 13.10 in late trade, Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) which lost 3.50% to settle at 32.230 and Numericable SFR SA (PA:SFRGR) which was down 3.41% to 23.820 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 435 to 248 and 105 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kering SA (PA:PRTP) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.54% or 2.90 to 190.95.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 2.65% to 19.18.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.15% or 1.85 to $1258.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.13% or 0.58 to hit $50.77 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.30% or 0.69 to trade at $52.45 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.68% to 1.1060, while EUR/GBP rose 0.59% to 0.9060.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.67% at 97.56.
