Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.55%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.64%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Orange SA (EPA:ORAN), which rose 1.35% or 0.14 points to trade at 10.37 at the close. Meanwhile, AXA SA (EPA:AXAF) added 1.05% or 0.28 points to end at 26.41 and Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) was up 1.00% or 0.98 points to 98.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which fell 2.95% or 1.72 points to trade at 56.58 at the close. STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) declined 2.46% or 1.08 points to end at 42.63 and Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) was down 2.11% or 10.80 points to 502.20.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Dassault Aviation SA (EPA:AM) which rose 1.83% to 178.20, Ipsen SA (EPA:IPN) which was up 1.59% to settle at 108.60 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) which gained 1.35% to close at 10.37.
The worst performers were SES Imagotag (EPA:SESL) which was down 58.27% to 69.60 in late trade, Air France KLM SA (EPA:AIRF) which lost 5.60% to settle at 1.68 and Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was down 4.36% to 1.99 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 348 to 163 and 101 ended unchanged.
Shares in Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.95% or 1.72 to 56.58. Shares in SES Imagotag (EPA:SESL) fell to 52-week lows; down 58.27% or 97.20 to 69.60.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.27% or 5.10 to $1,928.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.98% or 0.68 to hit $68.83 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.88% or 0.65 to trade at $73.49 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.65% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.26% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.59% at 102.60.
