Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.45%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.48%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 3.04% or 0.64 points to trade at 21.72 at the close. Meanwhile, Renault SA (EPA:RENA) added 2.41% or 0.74 points to end at 31.42 and Vinci SA (EPA:SGEF) was up 2.29% or 1.86 points to 83.04 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP), which fell 3.44% or 6.30 points to trade at 176.65 at the close. WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) declined 2.44% or 1.04 points to end at 41.76 and TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) was down 2.09% or 1.10 points to 51.50.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Aperam SA (AS:APAM) which rose 4.02% to 25.88, Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) which was up 4.02% to settle at 87.48 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) which gained 3.04% to close at 21.72.
The worst performers were Remy Cointreau (EPA:RCOP) which was down 6.76% to 161.50 in late trade, Vallourec (EPA:VLLP) which lost 3.88% to settle at 10.16 and Faurecia (EPA:EPED) which was down 3.77% to 11.47 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 315 to 218 and 93 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 2.01% or 34.40 to $1,674.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.10% or 0.09 to hit $92.55 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.43% or 0.42 to trade at $97.50 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.50% to 0.97, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.47% at 113.21.
