Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Utilities and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.40%, while the SBF 120 index declined 1.11%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which rose 8.61% or 11.35 points to trade at 143.25 at the close. Meanwhile, AXA SA (EPA:AXAF) added 2.00% or 0.60 points to end at 30.57 and Credit Agricole SA (EPA:CAGR) was up 1.07% or 0.14 points to 13.23 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR), which fell 4.14% or 0.68 points to trade at 15.61 at the close. Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) declined 3.09% or 0.35 points to end at 10.97 and Thales (EPA:TCFP) was down 2.53% or 3.45 points to 133.00.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) which rose 8.61% to 143.25, Argan (EPA:ARGAN) which was up 2.35% to settle at 82.70 and Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which gained 2.31% to close at 2.74.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 7.71% to 3.41 in late trade, Forvia (EPA:FRVIA) which lost 6.99% to settle at 15.90 and Valeo SA (EPA:VLOF) which was down 6.19% to 11.59 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 285 to 206 and 110 ended unchanged.
Shares in AXA SA (EPA:AXAF) rose to 5-year highs; up 2.00% or 0.60 to 30.57. Shares in Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) fell to all time lows; falling 7.71% or 0.28 to 3.41. Shares in Valeo SA (EPA:VLOF) fell to 3-years lows; down 6.19% or 0.77 to 11.59.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.25% or 5.05 to $2,026.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.00% or 0.74 to hit $73.21 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.72% or 0.57 to trade at $78.53 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.08% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.36% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 103.18.
