Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.37%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.36%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE), which rose 4.83% or 0.66 points to trade at 14.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Thales (EPA:TCFP) added 2.25% or 2.90 points to end at 132.00 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) was up 1.93% or 4.90 points to 259.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Worldline SA (EPA:WLN), which fell 3.86% or 1.59 points to trade at 39.57 at the close. Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) declined 2.78% or 5.20 points to end at 182.00 and Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) was down 2.25% or 3.52 points to 153.04.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE) which rose 4.83% to 14.25, Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was up 3.52% to settle at 2.88 and Ipsen SA (EPA:IPN) which gained 3.01% to close at 109.50.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 5.81% to 12.89 in late trade, Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which lost 5.33% to settle at 2.15 and Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) which was down 3.86% to 39.57 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 321 to 214 and 98 ended unchanged.
Shares in Thales (EPA:TCFP) rose to all time highs; up 2.25% or 2.90 to 132.00.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.24% or 4.35 to $1,845.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.22% or 0.17 to hit $76.72 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.95% or 0.80 to trade at $83.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.19% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP fell 0.90% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 103.97.
