Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Utilities, Technology and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.28%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.19%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP), which rose 2.45% or 1.80 points to trade at 75.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) added 2.19% or 0.84 points to end at 39.14 and Safran SA (EPA:SAF) was up 2.19% or 3.00 points to 139.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which fell 3.92% or 1.49 points to trade at 36.55 at the close. Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) declined 3.38% or 5.70 points to end at 162.95 and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) was down 2.15% or 19.20 points to 873.60.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which rose 13.23% to 3.06, Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which was up 4.85% to settle at 100.50 and Korian Medica SA (EPA:KORI) which gained 3.42% to close at 7.41.
The worst performers were Renault SA (EPA:RENA) which was down 3.92% to 36.55 in late trade, Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) which lost 3.38% to settle at 162.95 and Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which was down 3.04% to 13.38 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 291 to 265 and 92 ended unchanged.
Shares in Safran SA (EPA:SAF) rose to 3-years highs; rising 2.19% or 3.00 to 139.90.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.59% or 11.85 to $2,003.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.14% or 1.76 to hit $80.67 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 2.02% or 1.74 to trade at $84.57 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.79% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.32% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.65% at 101.90.
