Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.24%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.38%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS), which rose 4.80% or 99.50 points to trade at 2,174.50 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) added 2.02% or 0.85 points to end at 42.71 and Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) was up 1.47% or 0.15 points to 10.32 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP), which fell 7.58% or 34.35 points to trade at 418.80 at the close. BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) declined 2.02% or 1.10 points to end at 53.44 and Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE) was down 2.00% or 0.29 points to 14.10.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which rose 13.81% to 22.67, Nexans SA (EPA:NEXS) which was up 5.87% to settle at 90.25 and Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) which gained 4.80% to close at 2,174.50.
The worst performers were X Fab Silicon Foundries EV (EPA:XFAB) which was down 12.92% to 7.82 in late trade, L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) which lost 7.58% to settle at 418.80 and Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 5.78% to 2.48 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 296 to 223 and 87 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.60% or 12.25 to $2,035.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.72% or 0.55 to hit $76.77 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.61% or 0.50 to trade at $82.13 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 104.00.
