Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Healthcare, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.15%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.17%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were AXA SA (EPA:AXAF), which rose 1.61% or 0.54 points to trade at 34.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Renault SA (EPA:RENA) added 1.50% or 0.66 points to end at 44.77 and Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) was up 0.97% or 0.13 points to 13.34 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV), which fell 2.81% or 0.24 points to trade at 8.30 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 2.27% or 0.55 points to end at 23.73 and Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) was down 1.68% or 1.52 points to 89.17.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Soitec SA (EPA:SOIT) which rose 6.47% to 86.45, Technip Energies BV (EPA:TE) which was up 2.85% to settle at 26.02 and Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which gained 1.76% to close at 5.56.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was unchanged 11.54% to 0.00 in late trade, Aperam SA (AS:APAM) which lost 6.59% to settle at 26.10 and Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which was down 5.23% to 2.97 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 268 to 233 and 93 ended unchanged.
Shares in Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.81% or 0.24 to 8.30. Shares in Technip Energies BV (EPA:TE) rose to all time highs; rising 2.85% or 0.72 to 26.02.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 1.10% or 29.81 to $2,679.59 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.63% or 1.14 to hit $71.16 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.33% or 0.98 to trade at $74.39 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.26% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP rose 0.65% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 106.71.
