Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.07%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.06%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Technip (PA:TECF), which rose 2.46% or 1.65 points to trade at 68.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Airbus Group (PA:AIR) added 1.46% or 0.87 points to end at 60.45 and Total SA (PA:TOTF) was up 1.22% or 0.56 points to 46.99 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP), which fell 2.19% or 4.75 points to trade at 211.70 at the close. Vivendi SA (PA:VIV) declined 2.07% or 0.39 points to end at 18.50 and Lafargeholcim Ltd (PA:LHN) was down 1.66% or 0.83 points to 49.56.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which rose 6.96% to 5.963, Amundi SA (PA:AMUN) which was up 5.35% to settle at 49.92 and Electricite de France SA (PA:EDF) which gained 3.77% to close at 11.15.
The worst performers were Ingenico Group (PA:INGC) which was down 3.19% to 70.14 in late trade, Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) which lost 2.19% to settle at 211.70 and Innate Pharma (PA:IPH) which was down 2.08% to 13.180 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 313 to 282 and 96 ended unchanged.
Shares in Technip (PA:TECF) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 2.46% or 1.65 to 68.70. Shares in Total SA (PA:TOTF) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.22% or 0.56 to 46.99. Shares in Vallourec (PA:VLLP) rose to 52-week highs; rising 6.96% or 0.388 to 5.963. Shares in Amundi SA (PA:AMUN) rose to all time highs; gaining 5.35% or 2.54 to 49.92.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 7.41% to 15.66.
Gold for February delivery was up 0.45% or 5.20 to $1167.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 3.28% or 1.69 to hit $53.19 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 3.13% or 1.70 to trade at $56.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.78% to 1.0638, while EUR/GBP fell 0.26% to 0.8379.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.61% at 100.98.
