Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials, Oil & Gas and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.05%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.79%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Legrand SA (EPA:LEGD), which rose 1.49% or 1.40 points to trade at 95.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) added 1.06% or 2.20 points to end at 208.85 and Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) was up 1.03% or 0.90 points to 88.12 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN), which fell 4.22% or 2.05 points to trade at 46.53 at the close. Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) declined 3.30% or 3.14 points to end at 92.06 and Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) was down 2.09% or 4.40 points to 206.50.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which rose 7.63% to 0.45, Air France KLM SA (EPA:AIRF) which was up 3.42% to settle at 10.32 and Valeo SA (EPA:VLOF) which gained 2.90% to close at 12.78.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 10.66% to 1.78 in late trade, Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) which lost 4.22% to settle at 46.53 and Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which was down 3.50% to 1.74 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 294 to 218 and 93 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.27% or 6.30 to $2,356.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.02% or 0.02 to hit $85.25 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.07% or 0.06 to trade at $89.48 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 1.11% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.07% at 105.03.
