Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the , Oil & Gas Producers and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 3.31%, while the SBF 120 index declined 3.02%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Airbus Group (PARIS:AIR), which rose 0.30% or 0.12 points to trade at 41.65 at the close. Meanwhile, Safran (PARIS:SAF) fell 0.20% or 0.10 points to end at 50.95 and Unibail-Rodamco (AMS:UNBP) was down 0.76% or 1.60 points to 209.95 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Total SA (PARIS:TOTF), which fell 5.98% or 2.54 points to trade at 39.98 at the close. BNP Paribas Act. A (PARIS:BNPP) declined 4.86% or 2.40 points to end at 47.03 and Carrefour (PARIS:CARR) was down 4.85% or 1.22 points to 23.86.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were AB Science (PARIS:ABS) which rose 3.11% to 12.610, Eutelsat Communications (PARIS:ETL) which was up 2.76% to settle at 27.54 and Solocal Group (PARIS:LOCAL) which gained 2.30% to close at 0.624.
The worst performers were Total SA (PARIS:TOTF) which was down 5.98% to 39.98 in late trade, Arkema (PARIS:AKE) which lost 5.13% to settle at 51.58 and Vallourec (PARIS:VLLP) which was down 5.06% to 21.30 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 608 to 285 and 59 ended unchanged.

Shares in Vallourec (PARIS:VLLP) fell to 52 week lows; losing 5.06% or 1.14 to 21.30.

Gold for February delivery was up 1.04% or 12.30 to $1198.50 a troy ounce.
Elsewhere in commodities trading, crude oil for delivery in February fell 4.63% or 2.44 to hit $50.25 a barrel, while the February brent oil contract fell 5.84% or 3.29 to trade at $53.12 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.64% to 1.1926, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.7826.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.27% at 91.72.
