Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Utilities, Consumer Services and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 1.85%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.68%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW), which rose 8.26% or 3.89 points to trade at 51.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) added 5.31% or 5.90 points to end at 117.05 and Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) was up 4.70% or 0.58 points to 12.92 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE), which fell 1.29% or 0.20 points to trade at 15.16 at the close. Thales (EPA:TCFP) declined 0.65% or 0.90 points to end at 137.45 and Danone SA (EPA:DANO) was down 0.11% or 0.06 points to 57.11.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which rose 13.02% to 1.01, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) which was up 8.26% to settle at 51.00 and Carmila SA (EPA:CARM) which gained 7.60% to close at 14.16.
The worst performers were Dassault Aviation SA (EPA:AM) which was down 2.40% to 182.80 in late trade, SCOR SE (EPA:SCOR) which lost 2.12% to settle at 28.59 and Ipsen SA (EPA:IPN) which was down 1.33% to 111.40 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 379 to 149 and 78 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.27% or 5.30 to $1,992.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.87% or 2.31 to hit $82.75 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 2.80% or 2.37 to trade at $87.00 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.58% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.71% at 105.96.
