Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 1.76%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 1.61%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI), which rose 5.49% or 0.82 points to trade at 15.85 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) added 5.38% or 0.72 points to end at 14.11 and Atos SE (PA:ATOS) was up 4.31% or 3.26 points to 78.92 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Orange SA (PA:ORAN), which fell 1.33% or 0.17 points to trade at 12.63 at the close. Thales (PA:TCFP) declined 1.13% or 1.12 points to end at 98.18 and Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) was down 0.32% or 0.50 points to 157.85.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Iliad (PA:ILD) which rose 10.19% to 133.50, Quadient SA (PA:QDT) which was up 6.33% to settle at 23.50 and SES (PA:SESFd) which gained 6.21% to close at 12.06.
The worst performers were Orange SA (PA:ORAN) which was down 1.33% to 12.63 in late trade, Dassault Aviation SA (PA:AVMD) which lost 1.27% to settle at 1090.00 and Rubis SCA (PA:RUBF) which was down 1.25% to 55.10 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 427 to 154 and 226 ended unchanged.
Shares in Orange SA (PA:ORAN) fell to 5-year lows; down 1.33% or 0.17 to 12.63. Shares in Iliad (PA:ILD) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 10.19% or 12.35 to 133.50. Shares in Orange SA (PA:ORAN) fell to 5-year lows; falling 1.33% or 0.17 to 12.63. Shares in Dassault Aviation SA (PA:AVMD) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.27% or 14.00 to 1090.00.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 3.40% to 14.57.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.83% or 29.00 to $1554.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.90% or 0.45 to hit $50.36 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.01% or 0.55 to trade at $54.76 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.19% to 1.1037, while EUR/GBP fell 0.45% to 0.8469.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 97.830.
