Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 1.64%, while the SBF 120 index gained 1.55%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO), which rose 4.67% or 1.16 points to trade at 26.01 at the close. Meanwhile, Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) added 4.55% or 21.30 points to end at 489.00 and Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) was up 4.45% or 46.50 points to 1,092.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which fell 2.28% or 1.54 points to trade at 66.07 at the close. Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) declined 1.18% or 1.22 points to end at 102.38 and Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) was down 0.91% or 0.18 points to 19.11.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Biomerieux SA (EPA:BIOX) which rose 5.44% to 98.14, Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) which was up 4.67% to settle at 26.01 and Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) which gained 4.55% to close at 489.00.
The worst performers were Maisons du Monde SAS (EPA:MDM) which was down 26.91% to 12.93 in late trade, Klepierre SA (EPA:LOIM) which lost 2.93% to settle at 21.56 and WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) which was down 2.28% to 66.07 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 350 to 174 and 101 ended unchanged.
Shares in Maisons du Monde SAS (EPA:MDM) fell to 52-week lows; down 26.91% or 4.76 to 12.93.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.18% or 3.26 to $1,850.86 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.41% or 0.47 to hit $114.56 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.70% or 0.80 to trade at $114.97 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.20% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 101.86.
