Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 1.41%, while the SBF 120 index added 1.43%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Worldline SA (EPA:WLN), which rose 4.97% or 2.22 points to trade at 46.86 at the close. Meanwhile, Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) added 4.02% or 0.82 points to end at 21.21 and Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) was up 3.67% or 4.46 points to 126.06 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Thales (EPA:TCFP), which fell 1.85% or 2.20 points to trade at 116.50 at the close. Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) declined 0.29% or 0.28 points to end at 96.00 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) was up 0.03% or 0.02 points to 69.00.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Rubis SCA (EPA:RUBF) which rose 7.42% to 24.90, Faurecia (EPA:EPED) which was up 7.28% to settle at 14.52 and Metropole Television SA (EPA:MMTP) which gained 6.12% to close at 13.00.
The worst performers were Carmila SA (EPA:CARM) which was down 11.47% to 13.90 in late trade, Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which lost 2.01% to settle at 16.58 and Thales (EPA:TCFP) which was down 1.85% to 116.50 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 351 to 176 and 98 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.64% or 10.95 to $1,731.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 4.21% or 3.52 to hit $87.06 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 4.11% or 3.66 to trade at $92.81 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.60% to 1.01, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.24% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.75% at 108.89.
