Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 1.30% to hit a new 1-month high, while the SBF 120 index added 1.26%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN), which rose 6.50% or 8.22 points to trade at 134.72 at the close. Meanwhile, Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) added 5.32% or 28.10 points to end at 556.10 and Stellantis NV (EPA:STLA) was up 4.89% or 0.63 points to 13.56 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which fell 4.20% or 13.90 points to trade at 317.20 at the close. TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) declined 3.33% or 1.65 points to end at 48.09 and Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) was down 2.94% or 3.12 points to 103.04.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Ipsen SA (EPA:IPN) which rose 16.17% to 104.20, Verallia (EPA:VRLA) which was up 9.91% to settle at 24.62 and Maisons du Monde SAS (EPA:MDM) which gained 8.59% to close at 9.98.
The worst performers were SCOR SE (EPA:SCOR) which was down 18.57% to 16.66 in late trade, JC Decaux SA (EPA:JCDX) which lost 11.76% to settle at 15.23 and Accor SA (EPA:ACCP) which was down 11.67% to 25.35 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 298 to 242 and 78 ended unchanged.
Shares in SCOR SE (EPA:SCOR) fell to 52-week lows; down 18.57% or 3.80 to 16.66.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.90% or 32.60 to $1,751.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.13% or 0.13 to hit $97.13 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.30% or 0.31 to trade at $101.98 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.43% to 1.02, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.20% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 106.40.
