Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 1.26% to hit a new 52-week high, while the SBF 120 index climbed 1.33%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST), which rose 12.39% or 4.24 points to trade at 38.51 at the close. Meanwhile, WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) added 7.79% or 4.54 points to end at 62.84 and Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) was up 6.53% or 11.55 points to 188.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Thales (EPA:TCFP), which fell 3.31% or 4.05 points to trade at 118.20 at the close. BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) declined 2.52% or 1.59 points to end at 61.60 and Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) was down 2.18% or 1.93 points to 86.77.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which rose 13.72% to 2.57, Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) which was up 12.39% to settle at 38.51 and Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which gained 9.12% to close at 20.57.
The worst performers were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was down 32.27% to 3.75 in late trade, Thales (EPA:TCFP) which lost 3.31% to settle at 118.20 and Gaztransport et Technigaz SA (EPA:GTT) which was down 3.17% to 97.80 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 355 to 204 and 78 ended unchanged.
Shares in Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) fell to all time lows; falling 32.27% or 1.79 to 3.75.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.85% or 16.55 to $1,926.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.63% or 0.48 to hit $76.89 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.46% or 0.38 to trade at $83.22 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.73% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.38% to 0.89.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.50% at 101.53.
