Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.98% to hit a new 3-months high, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.97%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP), which rose 2.87% or 3.00 points to trade at 107.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) added 2.86% or 2.40 points to end at 86.40 and Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) was up 2.85% or 0.35 points to 12.56 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR), which fell 4.95% or 0.69 points to trade at 13.35 at the close. Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) declined 1.01% or 0.03 points to end at 2.55 and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) was down 0.78% or 5.40 points to 690.10.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which rose 7.75% to 2.20, Verallia (EPA:VRLA) which was up 7.40% to settle at 24.10 and Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which gained 7.28% to close at 5.75.
The worst performers were Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which was down 5.35% to 6.72 in late trade, Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) which lost 4.95% to settle at 13.35 and Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was unchanged 4.76% to 0.00 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 286 to 202 and 91 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.21% or 5.79 to $2,756.69 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.19% or 0.15 to hit $77.70 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.11% or 0.09 to trade at $81.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.40% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 109.11.
