Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.98%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.97%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Worldline SA (EPA:WLN), which rose 6.77% or 2.42 points to trade at 38.16 at the close. Meanwhile, Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) added 5.72% or 2.31 points to end at 42.72 and Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) was up 5.15% or 9.60 points to 196.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which fell 4.25% or 3.00 points to trade at 67.66 at the close. Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) declined 1.02% or 2.00 points to end at 193.50 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was down 1.02% or 0.29 points to 27.75.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Albioma SA (EPA:ABIO) which rose 15.91% to 50.70, Soitec SA (EPA:SOIT) which was up 7.03% to settle at 164.50 and Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) which gained 6.77% to close at 38.16.
The worst performers were Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which was down 16.65% to 5.29 in late trade, Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which lost 9.60% to settle at 127.10 and Valneva (EPA:VLS) which was down 4.73% to 11.89 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 312 to 240 and 80 ended unchanged.
Shares in Albioma SA (EPA:ABIO) rose to 5-year highs; up 15.91% or 6.96 to 50.70.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.01% or 0.25 to $1,888.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.21% or 2.25 to hit $104.27 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.59% or 1.67 to trade at $106.62 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.40% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.31% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.60% at 103.58.
