Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.91%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.79%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Safran SA (PA:SAF), which rose 3.89% or 3.90 points to trade at 104.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Schneider Electric SE (PA:SCHN) added 2.29% or 1.60 points to end at 71.42 and Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) was up 2.18% or 2.14 points to 100.26 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (PA:RENA), which fell 0.67% or 0.49 points to trade at 72.83 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 0.67% or 0.170 points to end at 25.110 and Vivendi SA (PA:VIV) was down 0.57% or 0.12 points to 21.00.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Safran SA (PA:SAF) which rose 3.89% to 104.05, CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which was up 2.71% to settle at 2.126 and Eramet (PA:ERMT) which gained 2.64% to close at 112.70.
The worst performers were Altran Technologies (PA:ALTT) which was down 3.87% to 12.420 in late trade, Maisons du Monde SAS (PA:MDM) which lost 3.78% to settle at 31.540 and Metropole TV (PA:MMTP) which was down 3.49% to 17.13 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 352 to 227 and 89 ended unchanged.
Shares in Renault SA (PA:RENA) fell to 52-week lows; falling 0.67% or 0.49 to 72.83. Shares in Metropole TV (PA:MMTP) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.49% or 0.62 to 17.13.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 11.67% to 14.96.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.26% or 3.30 to $1254.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.90% or 0.66 to hit $74.11 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.93% or 1.50 to trade at $79.11 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.93% to 1.1675, while EUR/GBP rose 0.03% to 0.8849.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.74% at 94.30.
