Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.89% to hit a new 52-week high, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.85%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Orange SA (EPA:ORAN), which rose 6.46% or 0.64 points to trade at 10.62 at the close. Meanwhile, Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) added 4.94% or 5.88 points to end at 124.94 and Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) was up 4.48% or 1.20 points to 28.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB), which fell 0.97% or 0.52 points to trade at 53.09 at the close. Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) declined 0.89% or 0.79 points to end at 87.85 and Vinci SA (EPA:SGEF) was down 0.57% or 0.62 points to 108.60.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which rose 14.61% to 13.53, Verallia (EPA:VRLA) which was up 7.55% to settle at 37.60 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) which gained 6.46% to close at 10.62.
The worst performers were Ipsos (EPA:ISOS) which was down 5.66% to 58.30 in late trade, Aeroports de Paris SA (EPA:ADP) which lost 5.28% to settle at 136.45 and Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was down 5.07% to 2.70 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 287 to 267 and 76 ended unchanged.
Shares in Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) rose to 52-week highs; rising 4.94% or 5.88 to 124.94. Shares in Verallia (EPA:VRLA) rose to all time highs; up 7.55% or 2.64 to 37.60.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.36% or 6.65 to $1,851.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.17% or 0.13 to hit $78.72 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.07% or 0.06 to trade at $85.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.16% to 0.89.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 103.77.
