Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Industrials and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.88%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.90%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM), which rose 2.88% or 0.49 points to trade at 17.66 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) added 2.77% or 0.82 points to end at 30.41 and WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) was up 2.55% or 1.46 points to 58.63 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Thales (EPA:TCFP), which fell 0.38% or 0.50 points to trade at 132.80 at the close. TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) declined 0.19% or 0.11 points to end at 59.01 and Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) was down 0.11% or 0.02 points to 18.11.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which rose 9.91% to 0.95, Faurecia (EPA:EPED) which was up 6.78% to settle at 22.53 and Valeo SA (EPA:VLOF) which gained 5.14% to close at 20.76.
The worst performers were SCOR SE (EPA:SCOR) which was down 2.13% to 23.90 in late trade, Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which lost 2.01% to settle at 3.51 and Inter Parfums Inc. (EPA:IPAR) which was down 1.65% to 65.70 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 341 to 212 and 75 ended unchanged.
Shares in Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.88% or 0.49 to 17.66.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.71% or 13.00 to $1,853.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.78% or 1.39 to hit $79.55 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.22% or 1.03 to trade at $85.78 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.27% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.28% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 104.63.
