Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.87%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.46%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Bouygues SA (EPA:BOUY), which rose 4.43% or 1.41 points to trade at 33.21 at the close. Meanwhile, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) added 3.97% or 1.78 points to end at 46.66 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was up 3.41% or 0.69 points to 20.94 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Thales (EPA:TCFP), which fell 1.17% or 1.65 points to trade at 139.45 at the close. Safran SA (EPA:SAF) declined 0.73% or 1.08 points to end at 147.02 and Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) was down 0.57% or 0.10 points to 16.58.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which rose 9.04% to 6.59, Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (EPA:STDM) which was up 8.98% to settle at 176.55 and Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which gained 6.32% to close at 1.61.
The worst performers were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was down 6.05% to 0.96 in late trade, Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which lost 4.86% to settle at 4.03 and SES (EPA:SESFd) which was down 4.76% to 5.51 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 307 to 183 and 106 ended unchanged.
Shares in Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) fell to all time lows; down 6.05% or 0.06 to 0.96. Shares in Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) fell to all time lows; losing 4.86% or 0.21 to 4.03.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.63% or 12.55 to $1,993.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.25% or 1.03 to hit $81.28 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.23% or 1.06 to trade at $85.29 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.36% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.58% at 106.55.
