Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Industrials and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.86% to hit a new all time high, while the SBF 120 index added 0.64%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which rose 6.53% or 2.46 points to trade at 40.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) added 5.78% or 1.31 points to end at 23.87 and Safran SA (EPA:SAF) was up 4.12% or 7.24 points to 183.16 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX), which fell 1.36% or 2.60 points to trade at 188.12 at the close. TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) declined 1.11% or 0.67 points to end at 59.75 and Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:MICP) was down 0.98% or 0.33 points to 33.18.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were ALD SA (EPA:ALDA) which rose 8.52% to 5.73, Renault SA (EPA:RENA) which was up 6.53% to settle at 40.15 and Lectra SA (EPA:LECS) which gained 6.28% to close at 33.00.
The worst performers were Verallia (EPA:VRLA) which was down 2.92% to 33.24 in late trade, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which lost 2.58% to settle at 2.34 and ID Logistics SAS (EPA:IDLA) which was down 2.30% to 319.00 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 295 to 207 and 98 ended unchanged.
Shares in Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) rose to all time highs; rising 5.78% or 1.31 to 23.87. Shares in Safran SA (EPA:SAF) rose to all time highs; gaining 4.12% or 7.24 to 183.16. Shares in Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) fell to all time lows; losing 2.58% or 0.06 to 2.34.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.43% or 8.55 to $2,012.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 2.21% or 1.69 to hit $78.33 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.91% or 1.56 to trade at $83.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.34% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 104.31.
