Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Consumer Services and Foods & Drugs sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.82%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.78%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Hermes International SCA (PA:HRMS), which rose 3.58% or 46.50 points to trade at 1345.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Capgemini SE (PA:CAPP) added 2.87% or 5.70 points to end at 204.40 and Kering SA (PA:PRTP) was up 2.37% or 15.80 points to 681.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (PA:SGOB), which fell 0.93% or 0.62 points to trade at 65.71 at the close. WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) declined 0.62% or 0.41 points to end at 65.19 and Vinci SA (PA:SGEF) was down 0.55% or 0.54 points to 97.93.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which rose 8.33% to 0.845, Atos SE (PA:ATOS) which was up 6.35% to settle at 33.33 and Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which gained 6.17% to close at 9.285.
The worst performers were Electricite de France SA (PA:EDF) which was down 4.21% to 8.47 in late trade, La Francaise Des Jeux Sa (PA:FDJ) which lost 2.23% to settle at 36.80 and Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) which was down 2.00% to 45.09 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 338 to 240 and 82 ended unchanged.
Shares in Electricite de France SA (PA:EDF) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.21% or 0.37 to 8.47.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 52-week low.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.12% or 2.25 to $1818.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.54% or 0.45 to hit $83.75 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.52% or 0.45 to trade at $86.51 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.02% to 1.1412, while EUR/GBP rose 0.17% to 0.8360.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 95.203.
