Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Utilities and Technology sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.78%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.72%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (PA:LVMH), which rose 3.33% or 9.85 points to trade at 305.85 at the close. Meanwhile, Atos SE (PA:ATOS) added 1.98% or 2.10 points to end at 108.25 and L’Oreal SA (PA:OREP) was up 1.83% or 3.70 points to 206.10 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (PA:RENA), which fell 2.13% or 1.66 points to trade at 76.33 at the close. WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) declined 2.07% or 3.66 points to end at 172.80 and Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP) was down 1.88% or 0.47 points to 24.57.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Vicat (PA:VCTP) which rose 6.74% to 55.45, Elis Services SA (PA:ELIS) which was up 3.42% to settle at 20.26 and Altran Technologies (PA:ALTT) which gained 3.38% to close at 7.500.

The worst performers were Teleperformance (PA:ROCH) which was down 3.79% to 159.90 in late trade, Orpea (PA:ORP) which lost 2.99% to settle at 111.75 and Korian Medica SA (PA:KORI) which was down 2.59% to 31.640 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 334 to 239 and 103 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 1.03% to 12.15 a new 1-month low.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.77% or 9.30 to $1202.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.00% or 0.70 to hit $71.02 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.04% or 0.03 to trade at $78.73 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.28% to 1.1744, while EUR/GBP rose 1.18% to 0.8980.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 93.82.
