Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Oil & Gas and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.75% to hit a new 1-month high, while the SBF 120 index added 0.81%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Worldline SA (EPA:WLN), which rose 13.76% or 5.03 points to trade at 41.59 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STM) added 3.38% or 1.14 points to end at 34.99 and Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE) was up 2.26% or 0.26 points to 11.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which fell 7.20% or 5.86 points to trade at 75.52 at the close. Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:MICP) declined 6.12% or 1.71 points to end at 26.23 and Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) was down 1.00% or 1.70 points to 167.80.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which rose 31.35% to 2.74, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was up 16.24% to settle at 11.55 and Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) which gained 13.76% to close at 41.59.
The worst performers were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) which was down 7.20% to 75.52 in late trade, Metropole Television SA (EPA:MMTP) which lost 7.00% to settle at 13.02 and Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:MICP) which was down 6.12% to 26.23 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 338 to 193 and 96 ended unchanged.
Shares in Metropole Television SA (EPA:MMTP) fell to 52-week lows; down 7.00% or 0.98 to 13.02.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.09% or 1.50 to $1,719.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.33% or 2.21 to hit $97.19 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.70% or 1.69 to trade at $101.15 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.03% to 1.01, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 107.20.
